Food Trailers in Lafayette
Lafayette feeds a food trailer better than almost any city its size: Festival International, Festivals Acadiens, Downtown Alive, the Cajundome events, the Friday-night football crowd and the plate-lunch trade along the Thruway and Johnston Street all run on trailers, and the Lafayette Parish health inspector sees more of them than most. We build them here in town, so you can walk through a build in progress and talk cook-line layout with the people welding it.
A food trailer is a kitchen on wheels, and the difference between one that gets licensed and one that sits in the yard is how it was built. We build food trailers in Lafayette on Rock Solid platforms, to order, around your menu: hood and fire suppression sized to the cook line, a handwash sink and a three-compartment sink, fresh and gray water tanks, propane plumbed and tagged, 50-amp electrical with a generator plug, and floors and walls that wipe clean the way the parish health inspector wants.
Sizes run from a 7x14 single-window setup for coffee, snowballs or a small catering menu to 8.5x20 and 8.5x24 tandem builds for a full plate-lunch or barbecue operation. The trailers on this page are example builds: they are built to order (we quote the lead time with your build sheet) and are never sitting on the lot as finished units, so use them as a starting point and tell us what you cook.
We walk you through the Louisiana Department of Health checklist before we weld a thing, because passing the first inspection is what gets you to the first festival. Financing & rent-to-own available (text us before you order a custom build and we will tell you what we can set up), and we can price a shell-only build if you want to finish the interior yourself.

Food Trailers in Lafayette
Lafayette is the hub of Acadiana and the crossroads of I-10, I-49 and US-90, which is why so many trailers in this town earn a living: oilfield-service crews running tool trailers out of the yards along the Thruway and Ambassador Caffery, contractors and landscapers working the new subdivisions south of town, and families hauling side-by-sides to the camp or a boiler to the Cajun Field tailgate. Festival International and Festivals Acadiens keep a whole fleet of food trailers busy every spring and fall. Our lot is at 2601 SE Evangeline Thruway, about five minutes from downtown, the Oil Center or the University; hours are Mon-Fri 8-5 and Saturday 8-12.
Delivery: Our build shop is at 2601 SE Evangeline Thruway in Lafayette. Food trailers are built to order, so delivery happens when your build is finished: free anywhere in Lafayette Parish and within 50 miles of the lot, or pick it up at the lot when it is done.

Questions
We build to pass: handwash and three-compartment sinks, proper fresh and gray water tanks, hood and fire suppression where the menu needs it, and we hand you the permit checklist before the build starts. That is the difference between our builds and a used trailer off Marketplace.
It depends on the platform size and how much equipment goes in; we quote the lead time with the build sheet before you put a deposit down. Food trailers are built to order, not stocked on the lot, so the example builds on this page are starting points for your own spec.
A 7x14 single-window trailer covers coffee, snowballs, a small catering or dessert menu. A 8.5x16 to 8.5x20 tandem handles a full plate-lunch, taco or burger line with two people working. Barbecue and anything with a smoker or a big flat-top usually lands on an 8.5x20 or 8.5x24.
Yes. We can build a shell with the windows, doors, electrical rough-in and floor done, and leave the equipment package to you. Tell us the menu either way so the hood and sink layout are sized right before the walls close up.
Financing & rent-to-own available. Bank financing and our lender network cover food trailer builds; rent-to-own on a custom build is a different conversation, so text 337-279-2620 or call 337-504-3820 before you order and we will tell you what we can set up.
Yes. Food trailers are built to order, so there is no finished unit sitting on the lot, but when there is a build in progress you can walk through it at 2601 SE Evangeline Thruway; call first and we will tell you what is on the floor. Come with your menu and we will talk hood size, sink layout and where the windows go before anything is welded.
Yes. Once your build is finished we deliver free within 50 miles of our Lafayette lot (all of Lafayette Parish); past 50 miles it is $3 per loaded mile, up to 300 miles. Or pick it up at the lot when it is done.
