Tandems run from a 4,500 lb GVWR Falcon 7x14 that still tows behind a half-ton, through 7,000 lb Load Trail tandems, up to the 10,400 lb Falcon HD with two 5,200 lb axles; brakes differ by model, so read the listing or ask. A heavy tandem with 7K axles crosses into equipment-trailer territory. What to look for: a real gate (a 4 ft tube-frame gate with a spring assist saves your back every single day), treated wood or steel-mesh floor, LED lights, a dovetail for low-clearance mowers, and radial tires.

A landscaping crew hauling a zero-turn plus a stand-on or a walk-behind wants a 7x14 tandem, the 4,500 lb GVWR Falcon for a lighter crew setup or the 10,400 lb HD when the load gets heavy, so the whole setup rides on one trailer with room for trimmers and blowers up front.
Single axle (2,990 to 3,500 lb GVWR) for mowers, four-wheelers, brush and store runs behind an SUV or half-ton. Tandem axle (4,500 to 10,400 lb GVWR depending on the model) for UTVs, small tractors, a loaded crew setup, or anything you will pull on the interstate every week. Every Load Trail tandem we sell has electric brakes on both axles; some Falcon tandems are plated at 4,500 lb with brakes on one axle or none, and the listing says which, so read it or ask before you buy.
